The BIM.Monitoring and Evaluation Consulting (bimMEc) Ltd is an organisation that provide M&E, research and capacity building services built environment and climate change related areas. The goal of bimMEc is to foster development in the world especially in Africa

By 2023, bimMEc will have a footprint on every continent delivering services that enhance research and technical capacities for empowering and improving the standards of living of global citizens.
We care for humanity by driving development through conducting cutting edge research, ensuring effective delivery of projects through M&E, and facilitating capacity building workshops for enhancing, empowering knowledge and skills of communities, government and private agencies.
Mission Statement
For too long, developing countries especially Africa have seldom inform practice with research and vice-versa and thus been missing the opportunities that comes with integrating research and practice. We will lead in merging research excellence and application in practice (REAP). One of the major benefits of REAP is that our research taps into indigenous knowledge and only adopt imported knowledge as a last resort to inform practice.
The Team
Managing Director
Dr Henry Abanda is a Reader/Associate Professor in Construction Informatics. He holds a BSc (Hons) and Dipl.-Ing. in Mathematics/Physics and Civil Engineering from the University of Buea and École Nationale Supérieure Polytechnique (ENSP) de Yaoundé, both in Cameroon. His other qualifications are Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching (PGCert) and PhD in Construction from Oxford Brookes University-UK, M&E from Africa Nazarene University-Kenya and HDR in Digital Construction Technology from Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse-France.
His research interests are in the area of Semantic Web, M&E, emerging digital construction technologies (e.g., BIM) and Renewable Energy. He has worked on research projects funded by the: Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council, International Labour Organisation and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He has designed, implemented and delivered BIM related modules on the undergraduate and postgraduate programs in some UK Universities. Furthermore, Henry has led scientific seminars and facilitated BIM workshops at the Universidad de Lleida-Spain, Ecole Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Tarbes-Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse-France, UN-Habitat III conference in Quito, Ecuador, School of Planning and Architecture-New Delhi-India-a top tier institution of learning in India, Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK), Ecole Nationale Supérieure Polytechnique de Yaoundé and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Travaux Publics- Yaoundé, Cameroun. Lastly, Henry was the lead facilitator in training 180 UK-based construction professionals through hands-on workshops on the use of BIM for construction project management and quantity surveying as part of the European Regional Development Fund Programme FutureFit Build Assets funded project. Henry has accumulated great international experience from travelling and working in many countries including Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, UK, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, France, Sweden, Finland, Canada, USA and Ecuador.
Consultants
Dr Noella Bajia Kunsoan is a Road safety Specialist. She holds a BSc in Microbiology from the University of Buea and a higher diploma in pedagogy from École Normale Supérieure (ENS) de Yaoundé, both in Cameroon. Her other qualifications are Postgraduate Certificate in Public Health (Epidemiology) and PhD in Transport (Road Safety management) from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. On – going M&E in the Africa Nazarene University-Kenya.
Her research interests are in the area of Road safety as a public health issue, and M&E. She has worked on the Safer Africa project funded by the European Union. She has designed and implemented a Road Safety Management Capacity Review (RSMCR) for Cameroon within the SaferAfricaProject. Furthermore, Noella has contributed in reviews towards the establishment of the African Road Safety Observatory.
Brouk Melaku Anteneh
Mr. Brouk Melaku Anteneh is a civil engineer who is working as an assistant researcher in the School of the Built Environment at Oxford Brookes University. After completing his Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Bahir Dar University, he worked as a project manager on various building construction projects. Following his ambition to excel academically, he completed a Masters in Construction Technology and Management in Mekelle University and Building Information Modelling and Management from Oxford Brookes University. His brilliance and urge to succeed made him to work hard and earned a second place in the 2020’s UK National BIM competition. His current interests are in the areas of BIM, sustainable construction and retrofitting and disaster management.
